locally known as 'meja' these dry stone walls have two faces that are built up simultaneously in order to withstand human and animal traffic.

The main purpose of these, centuries old, walls are to mark individual
properties and to hold fertile soil.
It is within these walls that Olive trees, fig trees, grape vines thrive.
